My why?
Like most 18 - 25 year olds I found this time very difficult in trying to work our what exactly it was that I wanted to do. Sure...once you graduate from high school you get a sense of freedom and think that 'yes, this is it...now I can do what I really want to do'...then you are kind of brought back down to reality with 'oh and with what money?!' lol.
Like most 18 -25 year olds I worked as a checkout operator at a supermarket. I hated going to this job. Not because I didn't want to work, but because I had no passion for it.
I listened to other people unhappy, complaining who hated their jobs. They would say "oh it's just how it is". This to me just makes absolutely no sense. Why would you want to spend the majority of your life getting up and going to a job that you feel miserable in. I get it. I understand that work is not something that we can just decide if we want to do or not. We HAVE to do it. We need money to survive. We don't have a choice but to work. Add providing for a family on top of that...that's pressure.
I promised myself that I would not fall into the trap of working in a job that made me unhappy. I had to work in jobs that made me miserable but each day I would tell myself 'it won't always be like this...you will find a job you love' in my case I am creating a job I love. Note I said 'creating' not 'I created' why? Because i'm not there yet....In another 2 years time I will be able to write 'I created a job I love' but currently I am in the process of this creation.
Am I saying that cmdesigns is not successful yet. of course not. Take my starting point of having negative $50 in the bank and sitting at my laptop searching 'how do I start my own business?' to right now as I type this then YES so far it has been successful.
Just a reminder to those of you who are out there creating your own thing. It's not going to happen in 6 months, a year, maybe not even 3 years but if you are consistent, you evolve and change when you need to and have an unwavering self belief than you will get there.
Don't beat yourself up when things don't move as quickly as you want them to...patience and hard work equals progress.
But back to my why? Simply. I ADORE Dogs, I LOVE being creative AND I can combine those 2 things and make a job out of it. I'm in. But there's something else I want to achieve and myself and some of my amazing furfam did this with the 2018 Charity Calendar. I will talk more about it in a blog post soon. This showed me how a small group of people can make a difference to the lives of some beautiful furbabies. THIS! I thought, wow! I want to grow my business to a point where I can help more and more furbabies. The bigger my business becomes the more I can help.
This is my why. To inspire you to believe in yourself. It can be actually signing up to do that dance class or it could be starting your own business. You don't need anyone else's validation to follow your dreams, goals, wants, needs, passions. Also my why...to grow my business so I can give back and help animals in need. If you're a furmamma or furdadda reading this you don't need me to tell you just how important those sooky eyes, wet noses and wagging tails are in your life.
